Flower Pot Quilt

Designed, machine appliqued and machine quilted by Nancy. This was a fun block to design with flowers, hearts and pots that are raw edge appliqued to various black and white backgrounds. The blocks were sewn with black print inner borders and a wide black print outer border. The backing is black with paw prints in multiple colors. The flower pots are various black prints with hot pink rick-rack accents. The flowers have different sized and shaped pink or white buttons sewn into the centers. This is a queen size quilt made with a fun-loving teenager in mind.

Southwest Critters

This is a lap quilt machine pieced and machine quilted with raw-edge applique of southwest animal designs. The fabric is of various batiks in blues, greens, purples and browns - colors of the Sonoran desert at sunset. It is approx 45x45 inches and the backing is batik fabric of all the colors of the top.

Welsh Wallhanging

This is a wallhanging quilt or a lap size quilt in a pattern found in old Welsh quilt books. It is a reproduction of Welsh folk art as well as colors found most often in antique quilts. It was hand appliqued, machine pieced and hand quilted.

Kachina Mask

Kachina Mask designed by Nancy using a pattern based on Feathered Plates by J. Michelle Watts. The feathered plates and mask were raw-edge appliqued on a multi-colored batik with a kokopelli design. This is a queen size quilt with a black inner border and a wide outer border of multi-color batik used in the blocks. The backing is a printed gold color fabric sprinkled with southwestern drawings. It was machine pieced, appliqued and machine quilted.

Dragonfly Quilt

This is a rail fence quilt pattern made from many different taupe fabrics imported from Japan. The large blocks contain hand appliqued flowers and the corner blocks in the border contain hand appliqued dragonflies. The inner border and binding are a darker brown print fabric and the outer border is made from all the fabrics contained in the rail fence blocks. The quilt was machine pieced and machine quilted with a circle-within-a-circle design. The backing is a pink and taupe fabric also imported from Japan.

Sherbet

Sherbet Quilt is from fabric line and pattern of the same name from Buggy Barn. The pastel blocks are of multiple colors with a dark brown print inner border and a pink print outer border. This queen size quilt is machine pieced and machine quilted with a free-hand flower and leaf pattern.

Hearts and Butterflies

This quilt was designed, machine pieced and quilted by Nancy. The pastel blocks are nine-patch pattern with large pink blocks set inbetween. The large blocks are quilted with a continuous line butterfly pattern and the pink outer border is quilted with a connecting hearts pattern.

Mariner's Compass

This quilt is a Mariner's Compass pattern using a method designed by Wedgeworks. The fabrics are patriotic reds, whites and blues along with some Japanese design fabrics for one compass block. The borders between blocks are a flying geese pattern. It was machine and hand pieced with machine quilting.

Feathered Star Quilt

This is a Feathered Star pattern by Marsha McCloskey, machine pieced and machine quilted. Each feathered star is placed on various cream colored background fabrics. Each star is made from a pink and green focus fabric and bordered with darker pink and beige fabrics. The backing is made from 18 inch blocks of fabrics from the top along with some coordinating fabrics.

Log Cabin Quilt

This is a Log Cabin pattern quilt with the centers containing home, trees, flowers, hearts and blue-bird blocks. The block centers were hand appliqued, the log cabin blocks were machine pieced, and the entire king sized quilt was hand quilted.

Grandma's Quilt

Grandma Spray embroidered the flower quilt blocks sometime during the 1950's The center of the quilt is a cross-stitched poem. It was modified from an original poem read at Grandma's funeral by granddaughter Mary Lou. The blocks were set in borders and hand quilted by granddaughter Nancy.
